Focus on Evangelism: Unity in Christ Conference and Worship Celebration
A highlight of the day was the praises lifted up by the city-wide choir representative of churches in the greater Lancaster area. The morning hours of November 11 offered a series of one-hour workshops presented by various church leaders from the community. 26 churches were represented, with 250 persons participating in the conference, including the 80 participants who attended the workshops.
Lady Michelle Nurse, of Chenaniah’s New Image Ministries was a Special Guest, and presented the
1st ever Ministry of Dance to “Beautiful” by CeCe Winans.
This Unity Conference was the first such event in the long 160-year history of Lancaster. It reached across racial, cultural, and denominational lines in an effort to promote unity in the community. It was also only the second time that Dr. Tony Evans has spoken in Lancaster, the first being in 1995, also here in the First Baptist of Lancaster Worship Center.
Thanks to our dedicated volunteers and staff members who served so faithfully and to everyone who had a part in making this day a success and for making it a "First" for Lancaster.
Thomas Turner, Mark Gonzales, Dr. Tony Evans, Dr. Charles Dixon, Clyde Hairston
