Many young urban inner-city youth today are without guidance from a wise and trusted person and often our children grow into adulthood without models to show them how to achieve success in our complex world. Where is the voice of reason? Who has the "shoulder" to cry and depend on in times of crisis? Can you be trusted?
SO or Sold Out is a program that was designed as a great alternative to "just hang' in out". Every young person should have at least one adult in his/her life who makes and maintains a commitment to guide him/her into adulthood. Many of our youth come from single parent homes and are literally "raising" themselves. This program by no means replaces family, it's just a powerful tool that can be used to reinforce values or establish set boundaries for future development.
To achieve this goal, the Sold Out Youth Mentoring Program aims to train, guide, and establish empowered youth to evangelize the masses of their peers who are searching for the right answer. Our response to their question is "Jesus Christ". We are a Christ Centered Ministry reaching from the "church to the ghetto, from rural America to Upper & Mid-Class suburbia. We are pushing and making plans that promote health, education and employment while nurturing their spirituality.
We encourage all who have a heart to pray with us as we endeavor to move as the Holy Spirit guides us to fulfil our vision of truth. "Each one should reach one, teach one and release one into an expected end!
Jeremiah 29:11-13 clearly states: For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
This what God is in hot pursuit of, the heart of our youth. It too is what our adversary the "devil" seeks after as well. We stand united to "Declare and Decree victory in the name of Jesus! It is by the shedding of His blood that we have been liberated.
We have a generation of youth who are our future and they will lead us in the days to come. It is our desire to invest the time and resources necessary to make it all possible. We solicit your prayers and love gifts as we make ground for the future.
SO hopes to accomplish wonderful things with their participants. After 25 combined years of experience, we have found that the structure of a program will flourish if there is "order". More youth can be reached, through mentoring and the impact on their lives can last longer if it's facilitators, volunteers, parents and guardians motives are pure.
Our goals for this program is to move ahead for problems can remain viable far longer if we stand and criticize the program. A significant impact on our world can be achieved if we take our God given talents and move them into the area were they are needed and sustained,
